The beauty of a church

Kansas Catholic provides an beautiful series of photo posts from the consecration of the Oratory of Old St. Patrick in Kansas City, MO.  If you’ve never seen the consecration of a church, it is a sight to behold.  And as one could expect, the Extraordinary Form rite is simply magnificent.  What a treasure for the Church in Kansas City and the Body of Christ as a whole.

How awesome was the tracing of the Greek and Hebrew alphabets in cruciform!

That’s something I’ve never heard of before. I’m so glad NLM explained the meaning behind it in their post. So much symbolism, so much beauty. Tradition is awesome.
